Since Japan’s first course on entomology was established at Hokkaido University (HU) in 1896, HU has produced a great number of achievements as the Asian hub of entomology, thus contributing greatly to the elucidation of entomofauna and the development of agriculture and forestry. HU Graduate School of Agriculture has been publishing “Insecta Matsumurana,” an internationally-renowned entomological journal, since 1926. Notwithstanding a hiatus during World War II, the journal has continued to be published and has become one of the most enduring journals in entomology. The Journal focuses on entomology or biology including applied fields.
The Journal is available for free of charge through the database called, "Hokkaido University Collection of Scholarly and Academic Papers (HUSCAP)."
Also, the Journal as a booklet is released to major research organizations with which Hokkaido University has strong relationships. It is desired that a subscription request is made directly to the publisher on an exchange basis if possible.
